Leh Bike Tour Expedition

Day 1:-Arrival in Leh

Arrive in Leh, the capital of Ladakh, which sits at an altitude of around 3,500 meters (11,500 feet). Spend the day acclimatizing to the altitude. After some rest, take a leisurely exploration of Leh town. Visit the Leh Palace for stunning views of the town and the surrounding mountains, and stop by Shanti Stupa for a panoramic vista of the area. You can also wander around the local markets to immerse yourself in the culture. Spend the night in Leh to rest up for the adventure ahead.

 

Day 2:- Leh to Nubra Valley (130 km)

Start your day early, having breakfast before setting off towards Nubra Valley, located about 130 km from Leh. You'll cross over Khardung La, one of the highest motorable passes in the world at 5,359 meters. Stop at Khardung La to take in the breathtaking views before continuing your journey down into Nubra Valley. This region is known for its scenic landscapes, sand dunes, and monasteries. You can visit the Diskit Monastery and take a short ride to Hunder Sand Dunes, famous for its camel rides in the desert. Spend the night in Nubra Valley, where you’ll find several camps or guesthouses for accommodation.


Day 3:- : Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake (160 km)

On day three, set off early for Pangong Lake, about 160 km away. The road will take you through the Shyok River valley, offering thrilling riding experiences with stunning views. The road conditions can be rough in places, but the reward is a visit to Pangong Lake, known for its crystal-clear blue waters set against a backdrop of snow-capped peaks. Once you arrive, take your time to appreciate the serene beauty of the lake and perhaps enjoy a peaceful walk along the shore. Spend the night at Pangong Lake, where you can stay in camps or local guesthouses.


Day 4:-Pangong Lake to Tso Moriri (240 km)

After enjoying the morning at Pangong Lake, begin your journey towards Tso Moriri, a high-altitude lake located 240 km away. The route is more challenging, with gravel roads and some difficult terrain, but the landscapes you'll pass through are magnificent. You’ll ride through remote villages and vast, open spaces before reaching Tso Moriri, which sits at an altitude of 4,595 meters. The lake is much quieter than Pangong, offering a peaceful atmosphere for relaxation. Spend the night at Tso Moriri, where guesthouses and campsites are available.


Day 5:- Tso Moriri to Leh (220 km)

On the final day, start early for the ride back to Leh, a journey of about 220 km. The road conditions are generally better, but the ride will still be long. On your way, you can stop at key sites like the Mahe Bridge and the Chumathang Hot Springs to take in the views and rest. After a full day on the road, you’ll arrive back in Leh in the evening, where you can relax and freshen up. If you have time, you can explore Leh or do some shopping before the end of the trip.
